Then massage the ear thoroughly to loosen any deeply impacted ear mite dirt. Now clean out the ears with a cotton ball, a cotton swab can be used, but you have to make sure that the pet does not make any sudden moves and push the swab into the canal of the ear.

Ear cleaning can also be done with a diluted solution of water and vinegar, one part vinegar to 2 parts water. The vinegar and water will also help clean the ear as well as treat the mite problem. Yet another method is by crushing 4 garlic cloves in a cup of olive oil, steep over night. In the morning discard the garlic, heat the oil to it is warm to the touch and place in pets ears and massage. This treatment should be done for a month.
